- The warm colours, red, orange, and yellow evoke comfort, passion, anger, and hostility.
- The cool colours blue, purple, and green bring calmness and sadness.
- In India colours play a very important role and have deep significance. They are used for deities.

- Colour of purity, fertility, love, beauty
- Wealth, opulence, fear, fire, lust
- Sign of a married woman, wedding ceremonies
- Durga, who is brave, charitable, protective, and can destroy evil
